M.Ed. DIP Playwork
Ali has worked with children in a variety of capacities for over thirty years – these include youth work, community development work, children in care and children in hospital as well as playwork, but it is children’s play that has been her driving passion. For years she has been involved in playwork at a national level, writing occupational standards, training courses and learning materials, assessing, verifying, and delivering workshops, courses and qualifications from introductory to degree level. She has co-authored ‘Reflective Playwork’ and ‘Gender, Sex and Children’s Play’ and has conducted research into young people and extremist religious groups, children’s emotional and sexual development. As well as being a director of the Play Resource Company, she currently chairs Meriden Adventure Playground Association and is loving watching her grandchildren play.
